Outside the building we live in, there is a plant growing. During fall/winter the red stems light up around the snow. The plant is called Siberian Dogwood and is perfect for making decorations for Christmas and of course for Valentine’s day. I went out the other day hoping that no one else had been out cutting. Luckily for me, no one had. Now there’s not much left to cut this year. Okay, here’s how you can make a DIY Valentine Heart.
Supplies: A garden cutter, some red craft wire and a Siberian Dogwood nearby. Cut off at least 8 branches, approximately 6.5 inches (2 metres) if you want the same size I made. 4 of the branches will make out the left side of the heart and the other 4 the right side. Use some red craft wire and attach the first left and right part of the heart to each other. The first string of wire goes where I hold my hands on the photo below. The other string goes where the split starts. Then twirl the other branches around the heart until you’re satisfied with the thickness.
