DIY Stick Stars

After seeing these stars on Pinterest, I just had to try and make some myself. Now, there are several ways to make a star out of sticks or branches. I chose the easy way (that’s just how I am ;-)) and it includes a glue gun.

This is how you do it: 1. Go outside and gather the sticks/branches you want to use. 2. Get your glue gun and a pair of scissors (or garden scissors). 3. Cut 6 pieces in the same length. 4. Glue them together, start with one of the triangles, then do the other. 5. Hang the star in your window or on the wall with the help of some twine and tape.

This is a great thing to do with the kids: First go out into the winter wonderland and find sticks, then go inside and maybe drink some hot chocolate while making the stars on the kitchen table. We might just make a tradition out of this. That is, when we get kids. And they are old enough to go outside. So probably not for a couple of years. We’re expecting on the 20th of December…

    Oh, they look great!
I love all “natural” decoration and they’re perfect…

And all the best for the 20th (or whenever the little one decides to come out ;))

I saw this listed on craftgawker as a Christmas decoration. They are Stars of David, a Jewish symbol. Just a friendly f.y.i., not meant to be rude.
