Reuse your empty toilet paper rolls and make a pencil holder! Use a glue stick and attach newspaper to the rolls. Save some newspaper at the bottom, this will make the “floor” so that the pencils donĀ“t fall through. Glue the three rolls together with some multi purpose glue.

This is such a good idea!! A great way to reuse old newspaper and toilet paper rolls, thanks for the wonderful ideas
Sure thing Kelsey
Did you Mod Podge this when you finished? Would that help it to last longer? I love the look, but am worried about durability.
No, Emiliy, I’ve only used newspaper. No doubt that mod podge will make it last longer
I love it I made it and it is soo awesome could u put some more things to do on this website it is the best website ever thx
You could also cover with fancy duck tape. It comes in so many neat patterns today.
Sure you can Pat, great idea!
Everyone was making fun of me for saving my rolls now I can have the last laugh.
That’s the beauty of saving stuff, suddenly one day you’ll make use of it! Lol
I have used these for my grand children to give out on holidays. This year for Easter we put jelly beans in them and they decorated the outside with white printing paper and we glued them to the holder.
Great idea Lucy – easy and fun for the children to be a part of. Thanks for commenting
Seeing this gave me another idea. I tried making scottowel knitting needle holders — put a square on the bottom, but it didn’t hold up. If I glue a couple together — certainly then my knitting needles will stay up in their holder. Thanks!
Wha about paper towel tubes? For knitting needles… etc?
Sure you can Lindi
Starting with a paper towel tube gives you more possibilities to choose size, you just cut the tube so that knitting needles will fit perfectly.
You could also use a bunch more and organize them in a Shoe Box, great for the kids Crayons and Supply’s decorate and it it a very handy piece of Art….Let the kids help and well you got a Masterpiece and something they can be proud of
That is so true Cindy – I could gather more of them together, and I will, if I ever get enough Crayons, pens and pencils to fill a shoe box. We don’t have any kids. Yet
