DIY Mousepad

DIY Mousepad

A couple of weeks ago we were at IKEA browsing for a drawer, when I suddenly came across a roll with 50 fabric samples, called Finurlig – perfect for making artful mousepads. You can of course use any kind of fabric you like.

Supplies: Fabric, a thin sheet of foam, a glue stick and a paper cutter. I got my foam from Tiger. First you apply glue on the foam, making sure every inch is covered. Lay the fabric on top and use your hands to get it to stick and get rid of the air bubbles. Cut off any superfluous parts with the paper cutter. Voila – that’s it!

These fabric samples will work great in making bow ties too. I’m waiting on some bow tie clips that I’ve ordered – looking forward to it!

Is there a particular glue that should be used?

Hi Jerra! I used a Tombo stick, but any type of glue stick will do. Just be sure to apply enough glue 🙂

Thanks – you do that Anita 🙂

  3. I also made my mouse pad myself… In the same way like you did. Only that I used wax cloth instead of fabric, because I’m awesome at spilling any liquid and I needed something cleanable 😉

    Love, have an awesome week!
